Birdwatching

I entered a contest in Ning Site Deb Company and Friends
for May Challenge, and Birdwatching was the winning
art piece.
I was happy with the panel of judges final decision .
This was inspired by a photo of Bijou I took while he was
Birdwatching. In spring starlings build their nests above our patio, and he can sit there for a long time..watching intensely.
A piece of muslin was coated with digital ground, dried, and painted. It was encased with beeswax on beechwood panel.

What have I been up to?

On the weekend of May 1st I participated in an event called "Art in the City" with fifty other artists. It was much fun! I shared a table with another artist.
I sold some prints, fridge magnets from my art, and my home made photo notecards were
very popular.

Spring Symphony

This is my latest painting done today.
A great day for celebrating spring.
It was so beautiful and warm.
Done on approx. 10x10 fabric.
Hanging outside to dry.

Mail Art

I belong to a group where we do mail art. Artists

exchange art thru the mail. Here is one I did for

an artist in France called Le Petit Oiseau D'or

It translates.. A little golden bird

Came to visit

It was a beautiful treasure

And with me he stayed

Mixed Media

This was done on Baltic Birchwood 6" x 12"

I initially did a fabric collage on muslin then

made background with homemade paper layered

with 100% beeswax

Use the collage as the focal point.

Used more beeswax for sealing.

Smells so nice....
