My continued series on 4" x 4" mixed media.
"Springtime Innocence" with gears in her hair, words on her dress,dragonflies,flowers..she's ready to celebrate spring's arrival. Encaustic finish.
Creamy sari silk ribbon inserted thru little cherry mini eyelet.

Inspired by the lovely Mystele from
I picked some photo faces from prints created from  paintings. The wings are made with homemade paper. Very nice and thick. She has little flowers (real dried flowers) in her hair, which is mostly covered by the yummy wax ;-)
I included some  japanese tape, and  typewriter letters spelling 'love'. Oh her little dress was from this gorgeous paper i found at Urban Sources here in Vancouver. an alternative art material store ( a must see if your ever in vancouver)! I used a piece of sari silk inserted thru a little cherry mini eyelet, I made with my crop a dile, and the final touch with an encaustic finish. With the ribbon she hangs about eleven inches

This is a journal entry with 5 prompts. Using the prompts as symbolism, and what they mean for me.Joy,Dream,Imagine,Hope and Wish. It's about a child story , growing up, and what made me happy. A very healing exercise. One of them was the swing( symbol for freedom), my uncle's farm (riding a horse)~also a symbol for freedom. My mom's home made taffy, and home cook meal with dumplings brought me joy .The smell of warm bread filling the kitchen etched in my memory. The houses for me symbolizes warmth, home is where the heart is.What are my hope and wish for today? Hoping that one day the world will be at peace, and for everyone free of suffering and be happy! It all starts with oneself ;-)
