29 Faces starts September 1st

The month of september has arrived, and here in Vancouver the cool air is felt in the early morning, and evening. We've been blessed with beautiful weather, and on average September is lovely here. Ayala Art has started another lovely month with 29 Faces. I will post some of my work here. ```` I took the full plunge last nite , and did this portrait of my nice Abbey. I saw her this summer, while I was travelling to New Brunswick. The last time I saw here was 6 years ago. She's grown up into a lovely girl with a kind and sweet disposition. The reference photo is posted with my attempt to bring out her beautiful spirit. DAY 6: Abbey @ Beresford Beach (reference photo)
Abbey @ Beresford Beach (my version)
DAY 8: This time it was an angel on 6" x 12" baltic birchwood. Angels come in my life often. I love creating them. They bring so much love and compassion! On my wooden panel I created a background of ephemeras, then gessoed creating wonderful textures.
DAY 8: This is my second painting for today;-) "Silence" is on 6" x 12" baltic birchwood For this painting mostly pinks, blues and purples were used to create a meditative and serene mood.
DAY 23:  Skipped many days. I'm preparing for a show so I have been very busy. Did this little sunday sketch @ my favorite cafe today, after I dropped off my artwork @ Beansprouts for the Drift Event in Vancouver from Sept. 28-30th http://www.thedrift.ca/about. I wanted to create a dreamy mood with textures. ~ Inspired by the book The Dovekeeper by Alice Hoffman, which I'm reading right now.Textures courtesy from Kimmie Draper, and a free Paris Background texture.

I am really loving all these drawings/sketches. And WOW! I can't believe the number of participants. Good Going, Ayala! Wish I had time to post on everyone's individual submissions.
