Acrylics,fiber paste,glass beads medium
on 140 lbs. Arches hot press paper
I've been in an owl frenzy, since taking Juliette Crane's class in Lifebook.
Here's another little whimsy owl, with a poem excerpt from
Mary Oliver "White Owl". The poem is beautiful. To read it in full visit this link http://www.panhala.net/ Archive/ White_Owl_Flies.html Misty Mawn referred to her in class. I took a small part from the poem , which I felt went nicely with this painting.
Done on 140 lbs. Arches watercolor paper in acrylics, fiber paste for body and wings, and glass beads medium for feathers. Homemade flower stamp on printing paper, and glued on watercolor paper with matte medium
Excerpt reads:
" Coming down out of the freezing sky
with its depths of light
like an angel, or a Buddha with wings"

New Handmade Mixed Media Books

My latest handmade book .
I enjoy the process!!
Intuitively , I gather

projects.. pieces of paper that I save.
Some I paint, some already have a design.
I glue them on a bookboard randomly..
I love to see what unfolds..
Sometimes a thought of an item I
have stored in a box will come to mind..
and I get it..it was meant to be added to this process.
My muse is in full swing..
I used transparency film to create the image with gel medium..
Four strands of wool as bookmark adorns the outside
of cover with various beads, and inside for placement

Hi!
Hi everyone!
Haven't been around for awhile.
I have been busy working, creating, keeping up with my etsy shop , Bijou my cat ..life in general.
Just to keep you up to date on what I've been up to .
I've been creating mixed media journal books with leftover material from other projects, and am enjoying making these very much. Check them out at my etsy shop!
