She Saw With The Eyes of Love;But wasn't always understood

"She saw with the eyes of love; but wasn't always understood" is a collage , journal entry. A bit more sombre than my usual paintings. I saw a young man today walking on the street as I was driving home,pan handling.
I rolled my window down,and gave him a dollar. Oh my the glow, and life that came on his face with a toothless smile.
He said" Happy New Year, and Good Luck". I wished him..all the luck myself at that moment..hoping he would be ok.

Last minute recycling ideas !

Running behind..busy week..no more wrapping paper!
Here's two ideas using a handled paper handbag, and handmade paper;-)
Have fun and be creative..
A personal touch always feel so good and satisfying, and also ooak.;-)
~~~~~~~~
The first one I simply made a collage on the front, used tissue paper ,golden snowflakes, silver stars, stamping, decorating until I was happy  for an xmas theme.
I also wrapped a decorative ribbon around the handles, and tied at the base of handle.
Bought some gorgeous tissue paper at one of my favorite store here in Vancouver called 'Urban Source', an Alternative art material store.http://www.urbansource.bc.ca/ (a place to surely visit if your in Vancouver;-))
~~~~~~~~
For the second one I used some handmade paper (which I had), folded in half to length. I wanted  re: gift then sewed it .Once done , I opened it so the seam would be in middle. Folded the bottom, approx. an inch, than sewed across.
For the top I used little red mini eyelets all around, and laced a golden ribbon thru it and voila..now time to fill it with your gifts
As an alternative you could use regular packaging paper, and also decorate it ;-)

These two are for my sister and niece ;-)

Another Sweet Whimsical Angel!

I haven't found names yet for my Angel Collages; but do enjoy creating them.
This is approx. 9" x 11 1/2 ". Created the collage, embellished, fused beeswax,
and crackle on collage and edges.
The collage was glued on blue cardstock, and used 7 mm double side tape
on the borders, and embossed with gorgeous Zing embossing powder.
Check out the little dragonfly on the window, and tiny black eyes :-)
I use a lattice handmade paper glued on blued cardstock for the back, which is
glued on black mat.(Can't see the black mat because it's covered)
Hangs with beautiful translucent sky blue ribbon  (approx.16 1/2 " in length)
Prints available upon request.

PRINT GIVEAWAY! Expressionistic Acrylic Collage

As an artist I think it's important to experiment .
It broadens our horizon, and opens up our mind.
I was inspired by an artist from Cincinatti by the
name of Merle Rosen http://www.merlerosen.com/ ,who
works in a variety of media. I took an online workshop http://storefront.theplatform.com/GetStorefrontEvent.event?page=6&pid=CK4RjzktyKz5nA4WCxJG2wuzZPcrnbsW with
two videos from Merle Rosen, and was inspired by her.
I wanted to try it out myself.
Your in touch with your stream of consciusness during this
painting process, and results in interesting outcomes.
When I was finished with this first piece it aroused a sense
of joy, and contentment . I was giddyish , like a child every
time I looked at it.
I used recycled material from my kitchen for stamping.
The collage was done on a watercolor canvas board, and
collage pieces on yupo paper
I used various gel mediums, and acrylic paints
Now, I want a name for this painting.
Please enter and give this painting a name.
I will choose the title i like best then the winner will
win a print.
You can enter more than once, if you come up with
another title.
The deadline is Feb. 14th!
The winner will be announced on Feb. 15th!
